VOYAGE TO THE END OF THE WORLD…

At the East entrance of the Magellan, North of the Tierra del Fuego, the Telford 34
over two consecutive contracts succesfully carried out pipelay, diving, heavy lift, accommodation and construction work between the gas plant and the “Area Magallanes” field.

This joint project between ENAP Chile NOC and YPF Argentina IOC was to increase the production of natural gas. One of the key stages of this 18-month investment plan, that was all performed by the Telford 34, was the laying of the 14 inch x 18 km pipeline on to the seabed from the shore to the AM2 platform, and several pipelines between the platforms and the newly-built treatment plant.
